Meet Author/Illustrator Frank Fiorello at The Pumpkin Patch!

Frank Fiorello has been creating artwork for over 45 years. His interest in art began at age 9 when he was diagnosed with polio and spent many hours during convalescence with coloring books and sketch pads. As a high school senior, he won the Hallmark Art Award for the State of Illinois. At the University of Illinois, he competed in wheelchair basketball and swimming. He traveled to South America, Europe and the Middle East as a member of the United States Olympic Wheelchair Team. He work for Sundstrand Aviation, in Rockford, Illinois as a graphic artist for 8 years and then went on to the Rockford Register Star where he worked for 17 years as a cartoonist and newsroom illustrator. Among his numerous art awards are two Best of Gannett honors.

In February 2001, after operating Fiorello's Pumpkin Patch for 18 years, Frank and his wife Sue, moved to Nevada where Frank now spends his time painting and writing for their publishing company, Pumpkin Patch Publishing.
